FAQ: The LSAT & Law School Admissions
How early should I start studying for the LSAT?
While it’s important to keep the LSAT on your radar, you don't need to start studying as soon as you start college. The LSAT is a skills-based exam with no content to memorize, so it’s best to focus on your GPA until you have time for a rigorous study schedule.
Once you have time and a target exam date, then you should start building your study plan. For most people, studying for the LSAT is a two-to-four-month endeavor, though some study for six months or longer. No matter how long you choose to study, Blueprint is here to help you every step of the way!
What GPA do I need in my first or second year to attend law school?
There’s no definitive answer to this question, but our advice is to do your best to keep it as high as possible! Remember that your GPA is one of the most important factors in the admissions decisions process, along with your LSAT score.
Do I need to officially declare myself as a “pre-law”?
The answer is no, as law schols don't require a specific major.
